"Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these". Mt 19:14
+ Filipe Neri Ferrão ARCHBISHOP OF GOA AND DAMAN
The Diocesan Catechetical Centre of the Archdiocese of Goa and Daman is launching its website today, the 2nd of October, which is celebrated annually as the Religion Teachers’ Day in our diocese. The purpose of the website, I am told, is to provide the faithful and the public in general with regular information about the various programmes, activities, meetings, courses of Faith formation, etc. organized by this our beloved Centre. The D.C.C. also looks forward to making this website an effective instrument of evangelization.
The aim of catechesis is to put people not only in touch but in communion, in intimacy, with Jesus. The catechist and the religion teacher, therefore, must be first and foremost a committed disciple of Jesus, who can turn other believers into ever more enthusiastic followers of the Master and instruments of His Joy, Peace and Love, while bringing this priceless gift also to the many people who are sincerely searching for the real meaning and purpose of their lives. This would turn the catechist and the religion teacher into a truly evangelizing disciple.
I earnestly pray that this website may fulfil the mission for which it is being created and become a commendable instrument of evangelization and transformation in the lives of those who visit it.

As part a of the Jubilee celebration the committee of the Diocesan Catechetical Centre has decided to launch its website. The purpose of the website is to provide an easy access to the faithful especially faith formators to the programmes, activities, meetings, seminars, courses, etc. of the Diocesan Catechetical Centre. The website will also be an instrument of evangelization.
This website will launched on 2nd October, 2018, at the hands of our Archbishop Most Rev. Filipe Neri Ferrão on the occasion of the celebration of the Religion Teachers' Day cum Felicitation of Religion Teachers.
Christ calls all the faithful to proclaim the Good News everywhere, and to hand His message on through the generations by professing, living, and celebrating the Faith in Liturgy and prayer. Evangelization and catechesis are among the principle means by which the Church transmits the Faith. To evangelize is to share Jesus Christ with the world, and catechesis is an indispensible stage in the dynamic reality of evangelization.
Christ is “the perfect communicator” (Communion et Progessio, No. 11), the norm and model of the Church's approach to communication, as well as to the content that the Church is obliged to communicate. Let all those Catholics who are involved in the world of social communications preach the truth of Jesus ever more boldly from their housetops.
